As a project employee at VPG Integrated Media, Inc. in Boston, MA, I helped create vPages, interactive electronic versions of print textbooks for the world’s leading educational publishers. These one-to-one matches with the hardcopy textbooks include animation and intertactive exercises; for example, instead of just a picture of Martin Luther King, Jr. on August 28, 1963, you could click to watch a video of the “I Have a Dream” speech instead.
Throughout the duration of my work for VPG, I was heavily involved in the process of vPage creation. I created the banners in Flash, the drop-down menus using XML, and of course the main content itself in a combination of Acrobat, Photoshop, and Flash. I also utilized voice integration to match pre-recorded audio of the text to highlight as the audio plays.
