How to subscribe to Wes Ide's World

Subscribing to Wes Ide's World is easy as a few clicks of your mouse - unless you are foolishly using Internet Explorer (in which case it is a few more)

So, to get started, here are the instructions for subscribing if you are smart enough to be using Firefox:

Subscribe using Firefox

1) You should of course already have Firefox installed. Then, click the RSS button on the right-hand column. You shouldn't need a visual to find this.

2) You should see a dialog box like this:

3) Click Okay, and you are done.

4) Now, if you would like to see if Wes Ide's World has been updated, you need only look at your Bookmarks Toolbar Folder in Firefox, which will display any updates that have been made.
Click here to see where this is located, and an example.

Subscribe using Internet Explorer

If you are still using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, here are the directions to follow to subscribe:

1) Click here and download Firefox. Then follow the above instructions.

2) If you still insist on using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, well, fine but you're missing out. Seriously, check out all the things Firefox can do the Microsoft's Internet Explorer cannot. Then, once again, click the orange RSS icon. You will be taken to a page that looks like this.

3) You should see a dialog box like this:

4) Click Okay, and you are done.

5) Now, if you would like to see if Wes Ide's World has been updated, you need only look at your Favorite Places, and choose Feeds. You will see any updates that have been made. Here's an example:

Subscribe using a program

There are several programs you can download that work with RSS to manage it in arguably more efficient ways. My personal favorite is a program called Klipfolio. If you take a look at Klipfolio, not only will it alert you to updates at Wes Ide's World, but you can also be notified of your computer activity, email, find a Wii and any other sites that use RSS - which, you'll notice a LOT of sites use these days!

Step 1: Go to Klipfolio.com and download and install Klipfolio.

Step 2: Add RSS feed

After installation completes, add an RSS feed you want as shown in the figure below.

Enter the feed URL to the URL text box. For example, for Wes Ide's World, enter http://www.wspentertainment.com/weside/rss/feed.xml. Then click the "Add Feed" button. This is shown in the figure below.

Step 3: Configure RSS feed refresh rate

Click on the "Options" tab. Choose the desired refresh rate under "Refresh all feeds". In the example below, we configure the klipfolio to refresh the PS3 Tracker RSS every 5 minutes.

Step 4: Configure RSS feed alert options

Click on the "Alerts" tab. Under "Alert me when:", check the option boxes for "New items are added" and "Any item changes". Choose the desired refresh rate under "Refresh all feeds".

Under "When an alert occurs:", check the option boxes for "Display a pop-up" and "Play the following sound:" and choose "Ascend". Click "close" to finalize the RSS setting. This is shown in the figure below.

That's it! klipfolio should automatically start when your PC is rebooted, and it should be minimized to your system tray after you close it. You should be notified when the RSS feed changes.

And that's it

Anytime you see the orange button that says RSS on a site, you need only click it and you can follow the above instructions for any of the three methods to subscribe.

Enjoy!
